Gay Marriage: A Republicans Best Friend
Well apparently noone has been as deadfast here as i was at the site of the 2004 campaign site of GeorgeWBush.com. And of course the favorite counterpart of Democrats, the RNC.org. Anyways, before i get into that, I must say how relevant Republicans are to shift the focus onto the issue of Gay Marriage during the 2004 campaign and election season that they had 11 states put anti-gay marriage platforms on the ballot. And yet, let them 11 states approve the gay marriage platforms on election day when a swarm of your anti-gay evangelicals hit to the polls in those 11 states. Its like anti-gay evangelicals get to have the final say as to what happened in America on November 2, 2004, after four years of job losses, economy tanking, two wars (1 illegal even by the UN, even after they declared there were no WMDs and Saddam probably only posed a threat to his own people and not to the world; For dont get me wrong, I am against evil dictators harboring on this planet, particularily in positions of power where they can screw us all up.) After four years of job losses though, as well as an economy tanking, the sinking dollar and middle class, corporate corruption, wrongful trade and immigration policies that are wrecking our country and filling the United States Of America with cheap corporate labor instead of a hard earned dollar labor, factories shutting down all over America since the beginning of Bush 1 and Clinton, but forgoing the conclusion under Bush 2 by a wide interpretation, 1000 soldiers (at the time of the election) killed in Iraq, What do the Republicans run on? Yes, they ran their platform on Gay Marriage! Hmmm. I guess they didnt wantto turn their attention away from that because if they did, Bush 2 would have become a 1 term president just like his Daddy. And whos to blame for anything of the other that is happening in our God-Rest country since 1995 when the GOP took control of Congress and 2001 when they had full control of the Government again after their unrest easy election coup in 2000. I guess we only can run on Gay Marriage in 2004, to ban gay marriage against a sector of our society that is just fighting for the same equal rights that every other group has fought for all through enternity. Fighting against maniac conservatives that want to turn back the clock on Civil Rights, Women's Rights, Gay Rights, Disability Rights, because they would rather appreciate living in our country in the year 1000 than the year 2000. Make that 2000 BC instead of 2000 AD. I guess Republicans really do owe alot to the Gay Marriage issue that they "won" this election by a 3% margin. Despite ignoring the overwhelming evidence that Democrats took back alot of state and local offices that will put us in a strong position for the future. No, Im not siding with Howard Dean you pathetic RightWingers that may come to my site and say that. Im just siding with the truth. I do support Howard Dean. I mean he has the fiscal conservative socially liberal progressive ideas that matter to our country. He balanced budgets in Vermont, kept the environment in his home state clean and conserved treasures that are rich with beauty and didnt plunder them, and he stood up for a sector of society that were fighting for their rights when he signed the Civil Unions into law in his state in 1999-2000. But thats not the point. The point of this all is is not who i supported for President and who anyone supports for President, but a president regardless of party or ideology should not stand in the way of Human Rights around the Globe and definitely not in our country that is trying to spread Human Rights and Democracy around the Globe by using ours as a model. I find this irritating that the GOP can use the Gay Marriage plank, because that is all they had to run on in 2004. They had nothing to run on in 2000. They had nothing to run on in 2004. Let me just be honest with you. I am against gay marriage, for i believe that a man and a woman union is sacred. But i am in support of giving human rights to a sector of society, and if that sector demands that they have the full accountability then they too should be able to have human rights. I believe it to be our duty to not side with rightwing evangelical extremists (the bulk of the turnout that lifted George W Bush to a second full term in office so we have four more years of him) and we should demand that even gay people live in a free society. Our founding fathers divorced us from the kings and queens of Britain because they wanted accountability. They wanted us to be free. Now in them days they may have forgotten the colored man, and their own women folk, and probably didnt even think about gays. But the truth is, they left it in our Constitution that we as a people could update our Constitution when necessary, as long as we protect the basic human rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. I believe it to be our duty to protect the basic human rights enshrined into the Constitution, and conserve them like a conservative (a true conservative that is) , but i also find it to be our duty to fight for the rights of others that may want the same freedom and liberty that we all want in America. And that is why i was against the GOP platform in 2004. it was wrong, immoral, and degrading to DISCRIMINATE against less than 10% of our population by wanting an outright ban on Gay Marriage. I hope George W Bush is proud of himself, and i sure hope Cheney is too as he has a lesbian daughter that he envies as a daughter, but wont fight for human rights by standing against, not for, George W Bush's discriminatory policy. I myself am not gay but i support gay rights. even marriage. I dont support it as a union between a man and a woman, but as basic human rights that we must all be compassionate, inclusive, and diverse about. If indeed it is very relevant to let the GOP do something like this and divide our country against less than 10% of our population, that is downright WRONG! Gay people deserve every last right of freedom and liberty that our great country has to offer, and let this be my goal - The GOP now stands for GREED OVER PLENTY. anyways, the 2004 GOP platform is in my own words degrading, discriminatory, and dirty. If they show their true colors like that, then maybe they shouldeventually be put out of power for good. And someday im sure they will, but maybe not for good, just for a long time until they learn how to be diverse, inclusive and compassionate. It is alright to be against gay marriage, but to use the issue to divide our country and to use the issue to discriminate against less than 10% of our population is wrong. I know that true traditional conservative republicans, moderate republicans, and the rest of us would like the extreme radical right to be lifted out of the Republican Party. I will give more on this later too, but for now i leave it at these words. If indeed less than 10% of the population is gay, and alot that are gay even if we legalized gay marriage nationally (which i myself am against because it should be decided by states), or if we gave civil unions nationally (which i myself am for and i support because civil unions are not gay marriage for they are just basic human rights that for example, a gay would be able to see a loved one in the hospital or get equal pay on the job, etc to a straight.), Then why is it and How is it that Gay Marriage being legal will change the definition of marriage (that of between a man and a woman?) . Think about that one.!

p.s. I happen to be straight. I am currently in a relationship with a girl 7 years younger than me, and i am in some rocky times with her right now, but i am straight and always will be. For all of you rightwingers that come to my site to dismiss the whole GOP gay marriage platform as "acceptable tolerant and right", let me ask this? WHY?
