1 Comments:
Rep. Henry Hyde (R-Ill. 6th CD), born in 1924 (as were Presidents Carter & GHW Bush) and elected in the Watergate year of 1974, has announced that he will not seek reelection in 2006.
He is known for his vigorous pro-life views and his chairmanship of the Judiciary Committee during the impeachment of Pres. Clinton. He has been replaced as Judiciary Chair by James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) and now heads the Foreign Affairs Committee.
